Description

Lake Granby is a very large lake. It is mostly surrounded by Rocky Mountain National Park but there are a few houses on the west side of the lake. It is very easy access. It is a large lake and a very deep lake (over 200 feet in some places). The lake has some awesome mountain backdrops. There are a couple of islands on the lake. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in Colorado and has a great deal of wildlife.

The eastern side of the lake, especially Grand Bay, is a good place to see moose and elk as well as bald eagles. There are 3 boat ramps on the lake. There is a marina and a boat rental place. There is also a place to rent kayaks and a restaurant on the water here.

Warnings, Tips, & Other Details

Lake Granby is a large, deep, and cold lake. If the winds are forecasted to be over 15 MPH then you probably don't want to be out there in a canoe or kayak.
