Description

Timber Lake is a small lake but still worth putting a canoe on. The water is usually crystal clear so it makes for an interesting paddle. There are plenty of fish, turtles and other critters to see. The road to Timber Lake is often blocked to vehicle traffic but it's a short 1/2 mile walk. If you plan on taking a canoe or kayak you will want to bring a "canoe cart" also called a "kayak dolly" in case the road is closed to vehicles. Timber Lake is on the Eglin Air Force Base reservation so you will need to have a permit to go there. These permits are east to obtain and only take about 10 minutes. You get them at "Jackson Guard".

The lake has a walking trail around it. There is a small stream leading into and out of the lake. There are a few picnic benches around the lake to sit and have a relaxing time.
