Description

Boca Ciega Park doesn't have a boat ramp but there are a few places to put your canoe or kayak in.
There is a designated kayak launch with a rack to put your kayak on while you rinse it off. There is a also a water spigot with a hose. To get to the kayak launch, take the first left you can once you are in the park. Go to the end of the parking lot and the launch will be on your left. It's about 70 feet from the parking lot to the launch point and it's an easy walk. If you go during the low tide, the distance will be twice as much. This launch is a challenge on low tide so I would advise to only use it within 3 hours of high tide.

The park itself is very well kept and has lots of good trails for walking. It also has an extensive boardwalk running through the park as well as a well built 3 story tower that gives a great view of the park and surrounding area. The tower has a number of wooden benches to sit and enjoy the view or watch a sunset. Both sides of the park are bordered by Pinellas County Aquatic Preserves.

Boca Ciega bay is really just a wide section of the ICW (intercoastal waterway). There are a couple of small islands within an 1/8 of a mile of the park and the water is mostly sheltered making a good place to canoe or kayak.
