Location

Shadow Mountain Lake is located 55 miles NW of Denver.

Description

   Shadow Mountain is a medium sized lake near Granby, CO. The eastern side of the lake is bordered by Rocky Mountain National Park and the western side has some houses on it. It has very scenic mountain backdrops. There are about seven long islands on the southern part of the lake.



The northern side of the lake is connected to Grand Lake by way of a narrow channel. There is a small bridge over this channel. You can pass through it with a small boat and it is about 15 feet wide. There are plenty of places to put a canoe in and it also has a boat ramp.

Warnings, Tips, & Other Details

This lake can get very rough if the winds are strong. If the winds are forecasted to be over 15 MPH then you probably don't want to be out there in a canoe or kayak.
